What does a shoot include?

A shoot includes the allotted shoot time and the number of retouched images specified in the package you select. Purchasing extra retouched images, your full gallery of web-sized JPEGs, or extra shoot time is an option for an additional charge.

Will you help me plan my shoot?

I have a background in commercial production and styling. So helping you plan and prepare is an absolute pleasure for me. I’m happy to look through location options, wardrobe, etc. My job is to make your brand more profitable and ensure you get the results you want. Tell me what your dream concepts are and we will work as a team to bring your vision to life. Some of my clients prefer me to be very involved while others prefer for me to just show up and shoot. The collaborative planning portion of my services is what you make of it.

Do you provide location/what are requirements for a location?

Because I work with an array of clients, I leave booking the location up to you with the exception of excursion shoots. I am available to help plan locations and approve or deny them if needed. The two largest factors in choosing a location are the amount of space and natural light. I use only prime lenses with no artificial lighting, therefore, ample space with large windows or other access to natural light is required for the best results. (500 sq ft or larger)

For excursion shoots, I am happy to scout and approve/deny locations as well. Because excursion shoots are off the beaten path, hiking time, driving time, and packing in equipment all needs to be considered.

Do you have a hair and makeup team?

I do not have a team I exclusively work with because I travel so frequently. Feel free to ask if I have contacts in a given area, I am always open to be as helpful as possible in preparation for your shoot.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, I require a 50% deposit to hold the shoot date at the time the contract is signed. The remainder of the balance to be paid on the day the service are rendered. This can be paid via PayPal (3% transaction fee applies), Cash App, or through the sponsor button on my booking page. (6% transaction fee applies)

How Far in advance do I need to book?

I recommend booking about 4-6 weeks in advance of planned shoot date, unless the shoot requires more time to plan, like a remote excursion or an international trip. If you are looking to shoot in a tighter time frame, feel free to reach out to see if I have availability.

What if you’re not an experienced model?

Very few of my clients are professional models. While I do have some celebs in my portfolio, vast majority of the lovely humans I photograph are everyday people. My goal is to make you feel as comfortable as possible in front of the camera. I shoot from the hip and keep my equipment list small so we can be as in the moment as possible. Making people feel comfortable and open around me is truly a gift of mine, combine that with years of experience posing people to look their absolute best and viola! There’s absolutely nothing to be self-conscious about.

How do I prep for the shoot?

The most important thing for your photo shoot is comfort and confidence. Natural body language always comes through in images and if you’re not feeling your best, it will show. Here are some tips on how to get the most out of your body and your photo shoot!

Concept

  • Have something crazy you want to try? Want to find the right photographer to execute it? PLEASE share your creative visions and inspiration! Do some research before your shoot. Look through Google Images, Pinterest, or any other place to find photos that really speak to you, and please email them to me before your shoot. I’m always happy to give you guidelines, coaching, styling suggestions, and any other support you may need. The more we communicate what you want, the better the results will be. If you are having trouble finding inspiration, feel free to check out my Pinterest boards here

Wardrobe

  • “Treat Yo’self”: Really use some self love and buy something you feel confident and sexy in. Now is the time to splurge and make the most of it!

  • I am happy to aid in the styling process if you wish.

  • For packages like “Lifestyle” and “The Date,” choose outfits and lingerie that you can layer to create different looks and/or choose 1-2 statement pieces in your outfit to make a story line coherent throughout our shoot. Visualizing your story is my number one goal!

Beauty

  • You are responsible for providing your own hair and makeup. Please skip fake tanners; the orange tones often don’t look good on camera.

Sleep

  • A good night’s sleep will help your shoot more than you think. If you begin fresh, your body will reward you.

Skin

  • Please refrain from using new skincare products on the day of your shoot, especially if you have sensitive skin. An hour prior to your shoot, please do not wear tight clothing that will leave lines on your skin, especially jeans and leggings with seams.

Nutrition

  • While I don’t recommend downing beer and pasta pre-shoot, fasting before a shoot can severely affect your posing and expression stamina if your body is not accustomed to it. Please do not fast for more than 6 hours before our shoot. Tips: instead of eating something carby or sugary that will leave you hungry an hour later (bagels, cereal, pancakes, etc), try to eat something with a high fat/protein content (nuts, meats, avocado, eggs, etc.) so it sustains you longer.

  • For shoots that extend more than three hours, please keep in mind that we will take up to a 30-minute break to refuel. Both of us will be more tired than you anticipate.

Comfort

  • The most important goal for your shoot is to make sure you are confident and comfortable. I am extremely conscious of consent at all times. My photo shoots are also relaxed, loose, and fun. I like to create an environment where we feel like old friends catching up. Be ready to laugh and let your hair down!

What if I need specific retouching?

I can accommodate almost any retouching preference depending on what YOU want. Overall, my goal is to create clean lines and dynamic images that pop off the screen or print. When you receive the proof gallery, you can enter specific notes per each image about what you would like retouched and how. If a particular image will take more than 1 hour to retouch, I will send an estimate ahead of time if I believe it will incur extra cost.

Included in normal retouching:

  • Exposure/color correction

  • Background cleanup

  • Smoothing body lines

  • Small tattoo removal

  • Blemish/skin correction

  • Stray hair removal

  • High end color grading

Additional retouching requests priced per image:

  • Large tattoo removal (like a sleeve)

  • Severe Acne or scarring correction

  • Face swaps

  • Sky/background swap

  • Special effect background or lighting

How quick is turn around?

Post-production time for images can take up to 4 weeks: One week to receive proofs and up to three weeks to receive retouched deliverables. I spend on average about an hour per image between culling, color correction, skin retouching, and toning an image to make it perfect for you! If you need the images sooner, I also have rush pricing available.

What if I’m running late for the shoot?

Life happens, especially here in LA. If you are late to a shoot, it will be deducted from the time initially agree upon, however, I typically don’t book more than two shoots per day. I can usually be flexible in offering extra shoot time for an additional fee. The last thing I want for either of us is to feel rushed or flustered on a shoot. This should overall be a net positive experience, so please do your best to be punctual. If you’re running late, we will figure it out.

What if I need to cancel or postpone the shoot?

All deposits are non-refundable, but shoots can be rescheduled for a new date within a six month window of the initial deposit being paid. For shoots canceled less than a week before the shoot date, There is a 100% cancellation fee to reschedule.

Do you have an assistant/what’s the guest policy?

When working with men, I require that a third party of my choosing be present. When working with women, my first priority is your comfort and safety. I will never bring an assistant on set if you are not comfortable with it. For lifestyle and date packages, I do recommend having an extra set of hands on set just to watch our belongings so we can both concentrate on creating the best content while we are out on location. As a typical rule of thumb, steer away from bringing anyone along unless they are contributing an additional skillset (hair, makeup, wardrobe, carrying heavy things, etc). Keep in mind, I am a female photographer and if at any point I feel uncomfortable during a shoot, I reserve the right to terminate the remainder of the shoot and keep all monies exchanged.

Do I get access to the RAW files?

No, the price of the package only includes the number of deliverables specified in the contract. This means you can not use the proofs, you do not own the image copyrights, and any unauthorized use of unedited or altered work is in violation of the contract. If you would like to buyout your entire proof gallery of unedited web resolution images, a flat rate is provided in the package pricing information.
